OCTATCO Launches Passwordless PC Login Solution Supporting Windows and Mac OS

OCTATCO, a FIDO2-based authentication security company led by CEO Lee Jaehyoung, announced the launch of a Passwordless PC login solution with Credential Provider (CP) functionality that works across both Windows and Mac OS environments.

In Active Directory (AD) environments, users can log in easily using Windows Hello fingerprint authentication with OCTATCO fingerprint security keys (EzFinger). The solution can also integrate with OCTATCO’s FIDO2-based unified authentication platform, (OCTATCO MFA) enabling PC login through multiple methods such as fingerprint security keys, mobile biometrics, OTP, and email authentication.

The solution combines FIDO2’s strong phishing-resistant technology with biometric authentication, offering a variety of authentication options while meeting the security requirements of zero-trust environments. Support for Mac OS further differentiates it from competing products.

An OCTATCO spokesperson highlighted,

“Account takeover accounts for 85% of security incidents, and employees often reuse 5–6 passwords. Since PC login is one of the most frequently used and highest-risk access points, our passwordless login solution aims to provide a safe and convenient zero-trust authentication environment.”
